Tracking Policy

Safe Bike is committed to transparency and the responsible use of technology. Some of our rental bike boxes are equipped with AirTags or similar tracking devices to protect our property and ensure timely returns.

1. Purpose of Tracking

Tracking technology is used solely for the following purposes:

  1. Locate rental boxes in case of loss or theft.

  2. Ensure the timely return of rental boxes.

  3. Protect the safety and security of the boxes during transit.

2. Consent

By renting a bike box from Safe Bike, you explicitly consent to the use of tracking devices for the duration of the rental period.

  • Consent is obtained at the time of rental, either via signature (in-person) or online acceptance.

  • You may not tamper with, remove, or disable the tracking device.

3. Data Collection & Use

  • The tracking devices collect location information related to the bike box only.

  • Data is used strictly for operational purposes and to recover lost or stolen property.

  • Safe Bike does not share location data with third parties except when required by law.

4. Data Retention

  • Tracking data is retained only for the duration of the rental period.

  • Once the bike box is returned and inspected, all associated location data is deleted or anonymized.

5. User Responsibility

  • Renters are responsible for securing the bike box and using it according to Safe Bike’s rental terms.

  • Renters must notify Safe Bike immediately if the box is lost, stolen, or damaged.
