2. Booking & Rental Questions
Q: How do I rent a bike box?
A: You can book your bike box online, via phone, or in-person at our Safe Bike location. Advance booking is recommended, especially during peak travel periods.
Q: What is the minimum age to rent a bike box?
A: Renters must be 18 years or older. Renters under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
Q: How long can I rent a bike box?
A: Rental periods are flexible. The start and end dates are agreed upon at booking. Extensions are available, subject to availability and additional fees.
3. Returns & Late Fees
Q: What happens if I return the box late?
A: Late returns incur a fee of £15 per day. A 4-hour grace period may apply for same-day rentals. Boxes not returned within 7 days will be charged at full replacement cost.
Q: How do I return the bike box?
A: Return the box to the agreed Safe Bike location. A staff member will inspect it for damage, cleanliness, and completeness.
4. Damage, Loss & Theft
Q: What if my bike box is damaged?
A: Renters are responsible for any damage during the rental period. Minor damage may incur repair fees; major damage will incur repair or replacement charges. Notify us immediately if damage occurs.
Q: What if my box is lost or stolen?
A: Renters are responsible for lost or stolen boxes. Charges will reflect full replacement cost plus administrative fees.
5. Payment & Refunds
Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Renters are responsible for confirming their airline’s requirements. Safe Bike is not liable for refused check-in, additional fees, or delays.
7. Safety & Handling

A: Secure your bike inside the box according to manufacturer instructions. Ensure parts are protected and the weight limit is not exceeded.
Q: Are the boxes safe to handle and transport?
A: Yes. Our boxes are durable and designed for safe handling. Always lift with care, use proper transport methods, and avoid overloading.

Q: Do you track the boxes?
A: Some boxes are equipped with AirTags for security and recovery purposes. Tracking is used only during the rental period to locate lost or stolen boxes.
Q: Is my personal data tracked?
A: Tracking collects location of the box only, not personal data. All data is deleted or anonymized after the box is returned.
